Players
East Select Soccer, or ESS, is a program offered to players in the East soccer club program. The East program consists of those players who have played recreational soccer and now want to move to the competitive level. The teams will be entered into competitive MYSA leagues, play in summer tournaments, and be entered into indoor tournaments at the highest levels possible. The main goal is to develop each player’s individual skills to their fullest Potential on and off the field, while promoting team play, sportsmanship, and the enjoyment of playing soccer.
Why ESS?
The rationale behind the formation of this competitive component of the East Soccer Club is that is to provide a higher level of play for East soccer players. The ESS program will provide another option for players to play at a higher level of soccer. The Club provides a positive environment for the continuing development of players who demonstrate talent, commitment, good sportsmanship and teamwork, and the desire to excel in the sport of soccer. Through professionalism in leadership and quality coaching, ESS fields teams that compete with the best in the state. Most importantly, we have fun! Parent involvement is always welcome. ESS has developed players for the collegiate Division I, II, and III level as well as players that have gone on to play adult recreational play.
Coaches:
ESS has a long history of providing an excellent coaching staff. All coaches have extensive playing experience playing at the highest levels, including high school and college. They are encouraged and supported to advance their level of knowledge by attending MYSA sponsored coaching clinics. They understand the game and know how to teach the skills and techniques that the players will need to play at this high level of competition. They function as role models, coaches, and mentors.
English Professional Coaches:
ESS distinguishes itself from other competitive programs by providing teams with extensive exposure to professional coaches from around the world. In the past, we have had coaches from Australia, Slovakia, Wales, England, and Scotland. These coaches have extensive professional experience and are an integral part of the ESS program. Foreign coaches practice with each team on a regular basis and provide support to our own club coaches.
